Cazombo is a town and municipality in eastern Angola . Cazombo is located in the border area of the tri-border region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the north, Zambia in the east, and Angola.
Cazombo is only slowly recovering from the consequences of the Angolan civil war (1975-2002) and the overpopulation caused by the return of refugees afterwards.

Cazombo is the seat of a municipality of the same name (Comuna) in the district ( Município ) of Alto Zambeze , in the province of Moxico . Cazombo is also the capital of the district. Exact population figures are not known. From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
