Edmonde Dever

Edmonde Dever (* 1921 in Brussels ) is a former Belgian diplomat .

Life

Edmonde Dever is the daughter of a Belgian diplomat. She studied humanities at the University of Liège and at the Université libre de Bruxelles . From 1946 to 1949 she was employed in the Belgian colonial administration. From 1949 to 1952 and from 1955 to 1959 she was employed in London . From 1959 she had exequatur as consul general in Johannesburg . From 1959 to 1961 she had exequatur as consul general in Luanda . From 1966 to 1969 she was the representative of the Permanent Representative of the Belgian Government at the UN headquarters . From 1973 to 1978 she was ambassador to Stockholm . From 1978 to 1981 she was an ambassador in Vienna . From 1981 to 1988 she was permanent representative of the Belgian government at the UN headquarters.
