Cecilia Gómez gained her first experience at international championships in 2017 at the South American Championships in Luque , where she finished fifth in the 400-meter run in 54.37 seconds and was eliminated in the 400-meter hurdles with 1: 03.70 minutes in the lead . In addition, she reached seventh place in the Bolivian 4 x 100 meter relay in 48.75 s. She then retired from the Juegos Bolivarianos in Santa Marta over 400 meters with 55.55 s in the first round and was fifth with the relay in 47.41 s. Two years later she was eliminated from the South American Championships in Lima in the 200-meter run with 25.18 s in the lead, as well as over 400 meters with 54.94 s. In 2020 she set a new national record with 55.76 seconds at the South American Indoor Championships in Cochabamba, which was held for the first time, and thus achieved fifth place. In addition, she won the 4 x 400 meter relay in 4: 00.77 min.
From 2015 to 2017 and 2019, Gómez was Bolivian champion in the 400-meter run outdoors and in 2020 also indoors. In 2017 she also secured the championship titles in the 100 and 200 meters and in the 400-meter hurdles, and in 2019 she also won the 200 meters.
