Cemel is a Belediye (municipality) in Şarkışla County in the Turkish province of Sivas .

etymology

It is estimated that the village was founded 200-300 years ago. The inhabitants are from Khorasan and today's Azerbaijan . The foreign immigrants were not warmly welcomed by the people from Şarkışla, so they had to settle outside the city. This is how the name “Cem (community) -El (foreign)” came about, which was given to the foreign immigrants from Khorasan. After the first accommodations were built about 4–5 km from the town of Şarkışla, the name of the village was coined as Cemel.
