Cenap Doruk ( 1942 - December 17, 2016 in Izmir ) was a Turkish football player .

Career

Cenap Doruk played in 1959 in the first official season of the newly formed Turkish league for İzmirspor . Although Doruk only scored three goals in 13 league games, he caught the interest of Galatasaray Istanbul .

The two Galatasaray coaches Gündüz Kılıç and Coşkun Özarı took care of Doruk's commitment on site and tried to get İzmirspor to terminate Doruk's current contract. Before that they agreed with Doruk for a change. After these developments, Izmirspor referred to a still valid contract with Doruk, lodged a complaint with the Turkish Football Association and threatened to take the matter up to FIFA . Regardless of these developments and made his club debut in the Cemal Gürsel Cup in the game of July 2, 1960 against Beşiktaş Istanbul . In mid-July, the Turkish Football Association contacted Galatasaray regarding the change of Doruk and Ayhan Elmastaşoğlu and requested an opinion. A little later, the national association initiated an investigation into the dodgy transfer settlement against Galatasaray. As a result, the association did not hand over a license for their new clubs to the players concerned until the facts were clarified. After this development, İzmirspor, who still had an ongoing contract with Doruk, applied for a license for the player and received it. In September the federation's investigative committee concluded its investigations and imposed a six-month suspension on Doruk. For the second half of the season Cenap Doruk was able to move to Galatasaray Istanbul and played his first competitive game on February 12, 1961 against Göztepe Izmir .

In the summer of 1961 Doruk left Galatasaray and was without a club until he was signed by Göztepe Izmir in 1963. The striker played for Göztepe for two years and returned to İzmirspor for the 1965/66 season. Doruk ended his career with Manisaspor in 1968 .
