history

Centavia was founded in 2005 and took over its first aircraft, a BAe 146-200 , from the Italian airline Meridiana on June 15, 2006, with which it operated its first charter flight from Belgrade to Corfu on August 8 of the same year . On August 15, she received her second aircraft, also a BAe 146-200, but this time from the inventory of Club Air .

Centavia was about to become the first airline to operate the route from Belgrade to Zagreb after the fall of Yugoslavia . However, the Croatian authorities denied landing rights. There were similar circumstances in Montenegro , where the authorities there also refused permission to land. Centavia was only able to operate the route from Ljubljana to Belgrade in code sharing with Adria Airways . Centavia also had landing rights for destinations in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Slovenia, which it wanted to start operating in winter 2006/2007.

However, the company returned its two BAe 146-200s to the lessor on November 9, 2006 due to financial difficulties and had to cease flight operations.
