from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center for Naval Analyzes ( CNA Corporation ; CNA , German: "Zentrum für Marineanalysen"), also known as the Naval Research Center , is a research and development center of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps sponsored by the US government . Its address is: 3003 Washington Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201, USA.

The center is an important think tank for the US Navy. It is similar to the RAND Corporation , the Hudson Institute , the Institute for Defense Analyzes , etc., in addition to providing research and analysis services to other US military and government agencies to improve the efficiency of US defense efforts. It has carried out its duties in the United States "for more than 70 years". The Naval Analysis Center was founded in 1962, but its history dates back to World War II. In 1942, the US Navy formed an "Anti-U-Boat Team" to deal with German U-boats. The Naval Analysis Center, a non-profit organization located in Arlington County , Virginia , began in the 1940s with 80 scientists and has grown to include full and part-time employees of approximately 625 people. The organization is divided into two departments: the Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) and the Institute for Public Research (IPR). Domestic public policy research works primarily with government departments such as the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the United States Aviation Administration, and the Department of Education. Usually about 45 employees are stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base (the world's largest naval base ), Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii , in Japan , Italy , Bahrain and other countries or regions.
