Lists on the subject |
The Centimeter ( Russian Сантиметр , Santimetr ) is a precision-guided artillery projectile of caliber 152 mm from Soviet and Russian production. The GRAU index is 2K24.
functionality
After being fired, the grenade follows a ballistic trajectory. In the last phase of the flight at a height of 20 to 600 m above the ground, propellant rocket charges are detonated inside. The trajectory of the grenade is corrected by pulses using nozzles arranged perpendicular to the axis of the projectile (RCIC pulse correction technique). The target must be illuminated (marked) with a laser for 1 to 3 seconds by an advanced artillery observer . The grenade contains four nozzles. Two propellant charges are assigned to each nozzle.
application
The 152 mm «Centimeter» grenade was fired for the first time in the Soviet-Afghan War in the 1980s.
