The Central Park is a football stadium in the Scottish town of Cowdenbeath , unitary authority Fife . The club's own venue was inaugurated in 1917. The facility is located in the center of the city and offers 5,268 places; 1,622 seats are available in the main grandstand. The main stand is the only part of the stadium that is covered and consists of two small tiers in the north. On the one hand the old main grandstand West Stand ( Old Grandstand ) with 1,000 wooden seats and on the other hand the newer Alex Menzies stand with 500 seats. It was built in 1993 after the grandstand was partially destroyed by fire in 1992.

In addition, the sports facility u. a. new changing rooms, meeting and office space. There are kiosks and toilets on the south side. The west curve housed the covered Coo Shed grandstand until it was destroyed by a storm in 1983. The visitor record was set on September 21, 1949. The Scottish League Cup quarter-final against the Glasgow Rangers attracted 25,586 spectators to Central Park . The stadium has had floodlights since 1968 .

An asphalt track runs around the field and has been used for motorsport events such as speedway and stock car races since 1965 ; Between March and November, races of various vehicle classes are held on the Racewall Cowdenbeath , usually on Saturdays . In the past, greyhound races were also held on the track ; today there is a weekly open-air market . There are plans to replace the aging stadium with a new building or at least to renovate it.
