Centro Acção Social Democrata Timorense
The Partidu Centro Acção Social Democrata Timorense CASDT ( German Timorese Central Action Social Democracy ) is a political party in East Timor. The first party president was Gil da Costa AN Alves , a former member of the ASDT , who passed away in 2019.
history
The CASDT was recognized as a party by the Tribunal de Recurso de Timor-Leste on September 2, 2015 . The first party conference took place on December 19, 2015 in Caicoli .
The CASDT ran in the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 . and failed at the four percent hurdle with 0.41% of the vote. In the previous presidential elections in 2017 , the CASDT supported the later election winner Francisco Lú-Olo Guterres , the FRETILIN candidate.
In March 2018, the CASDT and three other parties founded the Movimento Social Democrata (MSD) in order to run the early elections on May 12 with a joint list. The MSD clearly failed because of the four percent hurdle with only 3,188 votes (share: 0.5%).
