Ceršak ( German Zierberg ) is a place in northern Slovenia , which is located in the municipality of Šentilj v Slovenskih goricah ( German St. Egidi in Windisch Büheln ).

geography

The place is located in a gently sloping area in the north-western part of the Slovenian hills and in the south next to the Mur .

history

The place name "Cirbek" ("Zirberck") was first used in 1329 as a poor translation of the German language .

Industry

There is a paper mill near the Mur. In the 70s and 80s of the 20th century, the small town near the factory became a place with a few houses where the workers of the paper company live. This factory also houses the only hydroelectric power station on the Mur in Slovenia.
