Ceramica Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ceramica Foundation is a Swiss foundation established in 1954. The foundation is based in Basel and has been headed by Thomas Staehelin since 1999 .

activity

The foundation supports the scientific, art-historical , cultural-historical and archaeological research of ceramics from different epochs, mostly as one-off and proportional aid for the publication and printing of writings, exhibitions on ceramics or the making available of ceramic collections, for travel or photographic work. A large part of the literature in German but also in other languages, for example on ancient ceramics or on various ceramic manufacturers, including many standard works and collection catalogs, was co-financed by the Ceramica Foundation (see project examples).

Since 2009 the foundation has financed and organized the project CERAMICA CH - National Ceramic Inventory of Switzerland .
