Ceratina nigrolabiata is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees are 6 to 7 millimeters long. The body of the female is metallic blue to blue-green in color. The head and thorax are partially black , the sternites completely black. The splints ( tibia ) are spotted white at the base. The basal half of the labrum is almost unpunctured. The forehead shield has shiny, interstices that are larger than several points. The sixth tergite often does not have a clearly recognizable longitudinal ridge. The males are similar to the females, but have a white speckled faceplate. The seventh tergite is saddle-in and notched at the end and has two blunt tips and a tooth in the middle on the side edges.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed in southern Europe and from Austria east to Ukraine, Turkey and Israel. The animals fly from the beginning of March to at least the end of July, but probably also into autumn. The warmth-loving species collects pollen from different plant families. It is not known which cuckoo bees parasitize the species .
