The Roman Catholic Diocese of Cheju ( lat. : Dioecesis Cheiuensis , kor. : 천주교 제주 교구 ) is in South Korea location Roman Catholic diocese based in Jeju (Cheju).

history

The Diocese of Cheju was on June 28, 1971 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam supremi from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Gwangju as Apostolic Prefecture Cheju . On March 21, 1977 the Apostolic Prefecture Cheju was by Paul VI. with the Apostolic Constitution Munus Apostolicum raised to the diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Gwangju as a suffragan .
