Pius Moon Chang-woo

Pius Moon Chang-woo (born March 15, 1963 in Jeju-si , South Korea ) is a South Korean Roman Catholic clergyman and coadjutor bishop of Cheju .

Life

Pius Moon Chang-woo studied at the seminary in Gwangju and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Cheju on February 10, 1996 .

In addition to pastoral work, he was from 1999 to 2006 head of the offices for youth and education, catechesis and migrants and the diocesan student association. From 2006 to 2016 he was a lecturer in spirituality at the Catholic University of Gwangju . During this time he completed a doctorate from 2010 to 2015 . In 2016 he took over the management of a girls' school in Cheju.

On June 28, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Cheju. The bishop of Cheju, Peter Kang U-il , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Gwangju , Hyginus Kim Hee-jong , and the Bishop of Daejeon , Lazarus You Heung-sik .
