Hyginus Kim Hee-jong ( kor. 김희중 , born February 21, 1947 in Bukkyu-dong Mopko-shi , South Korea ) is a South Korean clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Gwangju .

Life

Hyginus Kim Hee-jong received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Gwangju on July 5, 1975 .

On 9 July 2003 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Corniculana and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Gwangju. The Archbishop of Gwangju, Andreas Choi Chang-mou , donated him episcopal ordination on August 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the retired Archbishop of Gwangju, Victorinus Youn Kong-hi , and the Bishop of Cheju , Peter Kang U-il .

On July 10, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to Coadjutor Archbishop of Gwangju. Hyginus Kim Hee-jong became Archbishop of Gwangju on March 25, 2010, succeeding Andreas Choi Chang-mou, who resigned due to illness.
