Victorinus Youn Kong-hi (born November 8, 1924 in Chinnampo , Heian-nandō Province , Chōsen , former Japanese Empire , today's North Korea ) is old archbishop of Gwangju and participant of the last three sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

Life

Victorinus Youn Kong-hi was ordained a priest on February 3, 1946 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 7, 1963 first bishop of Suwon . The Pope personally consecrated him bishop on October 20th of the same year; Co-consecrators were Pietro Sigismondi , Secretary of the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide , and Sergio Pignedoli , Apostolic Envoy for West and Central Africa .

On October 25, 1973, he was appointed Archbishop of Gwangju . On November 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
