Angelo Kim Nam-su

Angelo Kim Nam-su ( Korean : 김남수 안젤로; born June 4, 1922 in Suwon-shi ; † June 1, 2002 ) was a Korean Roman Catholic bishop .

Life

On October 17, 1948, Kim was ordained a priest for the diocese of Pusan . Paul VI appointed him on October 5, 1974 Bishop of Suwon . On November 21, 1974, Victorinus consecrated Youn Kong-hi , Archbishop of Gwangju , with the assistance of Luigi Dossena , Apostolic Nuncio of Korea, and Paul Marie Kinam Ro , Old Archbishop of Seoul , as bishop. On March 10, 1962, Pope John XXIII. the Vicariate Apostolic of the Archdiocese of Daegu. From November 22, 1983 to July 21, 1986 he was military vicar of South Korea and then until October 23, 1989 military bishop of South Korea. Between 1987 and 1993 he was the chairman of the Korean Bishops' Conference. On June 4, 1997, he resigned from office upon reaching retirement age.

His motto was Ut sint unum .
