The simple leaves are slightly succulent and measure 1.5 to 10 cm × 0.6 to 3 cm. The leaf stalks are 15 mm long. The elongated-lanceolate or broad-lanceolate leaf blade has wavy or saw-shaped edges.

The stalked inflorescence is one to multi-flowered; however, only one flower is open at a time. The stems between 2 and 60 mm long. The overgrown petals are gray-white to cream-colored with dense red spots. The crown is up to 6 inches long and slightly curved. The crown cup is 10 to 14 mm long and 5 to 9 mm in diameter. It is typically constricted slightly above the middle. The funnel-shaped corolla tube is curved and widens very slowly at first, then much faster further up. The corolla lobes are triangular to lanceolate and fused at the tips. The edges are turned down along the midrib and are hairy. They are banded white, green and dark red.

The follicles are slender, 12 to 22 cm long and 2 to 3 mm in diameter.
