Château La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière is one of the major wineries of the French commune of Saint-Emilion in the wine region of Bordeaux . In the hierarchy of red wines from Saint-Émilion, the products of the house belong to the second highest level - Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) - (→ Classification of Bordeaux wines ). The estate has been owned by the de Malet-Roquefort family for over three centuries.

The winery owns around 22 hectares of vineyards in the immediate vicinity of the Ausone and Pavie wineries . The red grape varieties Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) are grown .

The wine has been repeatedly rated over 90 points by Robert Parker . It is considered elegant and very durable. Stéphane Derenoncourt has acted as advisor since 2004. As a second wine is Clos La Gaffelière produced.
