The Chüebodensee is a mountain lake in the Sernftal in the canton of Glarus in Switzerland . It lies above Elm at an altitude of around 2046  m and is 1.4 hectares in size. It has an above-ground drain. However, the water disappears after a few meters in a crevice. Swimming and fishing are possible.

A gondola lift leads from Elm to the Ämpächli mountain station. From there you can take an eight-kilometer circular hike to the lake and back again. The walk takes four hours and offers views of the so-called Glarus thrust ( UNESCO - World Heritage ) and the Martinsloch .
