Jill Chaifetz

Jill Chaifetz (born July 24, 1964 in New York City , † February 2, 2006 in Manhattan ) was an American activist for children and director of Advocates for Children .

Life

Chaifetz received an honorary degree in political science from Swarthmore College and an honorary degree in law from New York University School of Law in 1986 . Before becoming an advocate for children, she ran a youth development agency in Manhattan, where she worked from 1992 to 1998.

She died of cancer , leaving behind her husband and three children.

The Jill Chaifetz Transfer High School in the South Bronx, New York City, is named after Jill Chaifetz.
