Chaim Levano

Chaim Levano (born January 1, 1928 in Heerlen , † February 17, 2016 in Amsterdam ) was a Dutch musician , theater director and actor .

Life

Levano was part of the avant-garde Dutch theater scene, he staged plays by Gertrude Stein , Daniil Charms , Samuel Beckett and Alexander Vvedenski . Among other things, he directed the play Hirngespinste based on the novel by the Dutch author J. Bernlef . In 1993 he was awarded the Savitzki Prize The Theatrical Space in 1993 for the large-scale installation Schauen III . Two years later he received the Phillip Morris Art Prize in Munich, which was then endowed with DM 10,000  .
