The Chaipudyr Bay ( Russian Хайпудырская губа ) is located in the southeast of the Pechora Sea , a part of the Barents Sea , on the coast of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug .
Chaipudyr Bay has a depth of 46 km and an average width of 33 km. The entrance to the inner bay is only 15 km wide. The water depth varies between one and two meters. The bay is bordered by a steep coast in the west. There are numerous sandbanks off the flatter east coast. The bay is framed by the Bolsemelskaya tundra , a landscape characterized by permafrost soils . The river More-Ju ( Chaipudyra ) flows into the bay . The Chaipudyr Bay opens to the northeast to an outer bay into which the Korotaicha flows further east . The tidal range in Chaipudyr Bay is about one meter.
