Chal-Tec GmbH is an e-commerce company based in Berlin . The company develops and sells 13 own brands from the household appliances , entertainment electronics , sporting goods and event technology segments in 18 European countries. The products are sold online via the company's own Electronic Star platform, brand shops and online marketplaces. The biggest brands are Klarstein (household appliances) and auna (music players and speakers). To a large extent, customer requests and suggestions flow into product development.

In addition to the headquarters in Berlin, the company has three other locations: From Bratislava ( Slovakia ), the distribution of products to Eastern Europe is controlled. Quality management takes place in Hong Kong . The goods are dispatched from our own warehouse in Kamp-Lintfort .

history

Peter Chaljawski, born 1986, founded Chal-Tec in 2005 and initially sold DJ equipment and event technology on Ebay . As a teenager he was also a DJ and realized that the necessary equipment was expensive and developed his first online store Electronic Star. The e-commerce company has been in the black since its first financial year. Today Chal-Tec employs around 350 people and operates several brand shops.

Economic figures

Chal-Tec grew exclusively from its own cash flow until June 2015 . In 2015, sales grew by 43 percent to 100 million euros.

Shareholders

In June 2015, Ardian took over 40 percent of the shares in the company. The remaining shares remained in the possession of Peter Chaljawski, who is still managing director and majority shareholder.
