Chalisgaon is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra .

The city is part of the Jalgaon District . Chalisgaon has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 33 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 97,551 inhabitants, of which 50,737 were men and 46,814 were women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 80%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 85.88%, well above the national average.

The city is connected to major Maharashtra cities such as Dhule by rail and road, Aurangabad by road, and Mumbai and Pune by rail.
