Champion was an American hardcore band from Seattle that formed in the late 1990s.

history

After the first shows, the band released their first demo as an MC . This was followed by a short tour of the US west coast. Although the demo and tour were well received, the band suffered a number of line-up changes. After many changes in the line-up, they were able to agree on a constant line-up in 2000 and released the second demo Come Out Swinging on Phyte Records and Platinum Recordings in Germany . Then they signed with Bridge 9 Records and recorded an EP called Count Our Numbers , which was released with a re-release of Come Out Swinging . Further touring with bands like Comeback Kid , Terror or Sick of It All solidified her skills as a live band. You have toured the whole of the USA and even some parts of Europe.

Champions album Promises Kept was released on Bridge 9 and was well received by the scene. After a second European tour and a detour to Australia, the USA toured again in 2005. In the spring of that year they were the first independent act since Kill Your Idols and Ensign in 2001 to play concerts in South Korea . The band then announced in 2006 that they had decided not to lead the band any longer because they did not like the urge for new albums and they did not want to distribute and create their music under this pressure. The last concert took place in her hometown of Seattle on May 27, 2006 at Club El Corazon.

After the breakup, the band members could be found in various other projects. Aram Arslanian sang with Betrayed and currently plays guitar with The Vows , as does Chris Williams. Todd Preboski also played drums at Betrayed.
