The Chaniszqali ( Georgian ხანისწყალი ) is a left tributary of the Rioni in the south of the Georgian region of Imereti .
The Chaniszqali rises in the Mescheti Mountains at an altitude of about 2200 m not far from the border with Samtskhe-Javakheti . It flows initially in a northerly direction, later in a north-westerly direction and then again in a northerly direction in a narrow, wooded valley through the mountains. At Baghdati it reaches the eastern part of the Colchian Plain , also known there as the Imeretian Plain . About 15 km further north-north-west it finally flows into the Warziche reservoir through which the Rioni flows .
The Chaniszqali has a length of 57 km. It drains an area of 914 km². Its mean discharge is 22.8 m³ / s.
