Chaostruppe is a Swiss hip-hop collective from Bern , which consists of 15 people.

Band history

The collective was founded around 2014 and consists of the members Dubios, Iroas, Jahmool, Migo, MQ, Pit, Rapaze, Roumee, Sam, Sophie, Tarick One, Theo Äro, Tiggr, 200BPM and Tilt. Sophie is the only female rapper in the collective. In addition to the rappers, there are also beat and music producers, graphic artists and Mit Rapaze also a DJ in the collective. The collective describes itself as socialist and comes from the environment of the Bern riding school .

The first release was the mix tape Chaostape , which was made available for free download on May 15, 2015. 2017, the collective made headlines, older than a three year song by Tilt and became known 200BPM on which this the SVP - National Councilor Natalie Rickli offended. They were accused of sexism , a reproach that they rejected out of their left self-image. In a subsequent trial they were convicted of verbal abuse and acquitted of allegations of sexual harassment . In the second instance, the higher court of the Canton of Bern ruled again in favor of the plaintiff. Defamation was added to the criminal offense of verbal abuse . The case was finally brought to the Federal Supreme Court by the public prosecutor , where it was finally decided that the criminal offense of sexual harassment was not fulfilled.

This was followed by the singles and tracks Noah (2018), Ds Beschtä chunnt nie (2018), D Wäut or Niemer (2020) and Nicotinfingergäub (2020). In addition, all members also recorded their own albums and tracks and collaborated on each other's tracks.

In 2020 the album Umverteilig (zu üs) was released , which reached number 1 in the Swiss album charts.

Music genre

The chaos group sees itself as a left and socialist collective. The songs are varied and integrate different rap styles with each other. The beats also adapt to the respective style. The texts are predominantly socially critical , while their basic statements are mainly cynical and ironic. In their texts they also tend to exaggerate their own luxury, which is typical of hip-hop, but which they also combine with a redistribution in the Marxist sense.
