Liz Kessler

Liz Kessler , actually Elizabeth Kessler (born October 15, 1966 in Southport , Great Britain ) is a British writer and journalist .

Life

Liz Kessler's father comes from Vienna . Because of their Jewish roots, his family emigrated to the Czech Republic in the 1930s . After the destruction of the rest of the Czech Republic , the family managed to emigrate to the United Kingdom with the help of an English couple . Liz Kessler lived with her family, she has a brother and a sister, in Birkdale , ( Southport ) when, at the age of 9, her first poem, "The Tale of Jinx's Shop" was published in a magazine. Liz Kessler studied English and Education at Loughborough University and Keele University . After graduating, she worked as a teacher for English and media studies . She has worked as a journalist for newspapers in Manchester and York . In 2005 she graduated with a Master of Arts from the Manchester Writing School of the Manchester Metropolitan University. For several years Liz Kessler lived on a boat near Macclesfield , where she was inspired to write her first novel "The Tail of Emily Windsnap". In addition to her work as a writer, Liz Kessler gives writing courses for authors. She now lives in St Ives (Cornwall)
