Charles Brommesson

Fritz Johan "Charles" Brommesson (born August 12, 1903 in Helsingborg , † September 1, 1978 ibid) was a Swedish national football player .

career

Brommesson played for Helsingborgs IF from 1921 . With the club, which was a founding member of the league in 1924, he played in the Allsvenskan . In 1929 and 1930 he was first in the league with the club, but at that time the title of Swedish champion was not officially awarded. In total, he played 231 games for the club before he had to end his career in 1930 for professional reasons.

Brommesson also played 12 caps for Sweden . He made his debut in the 1: 2 away defeat against the Hungarian national team on October 28, 1923 in the national jersey. In the 1924 Olympics he came three times used. With the selection he won the bronze medal, but was not used against the Dutch national team in the games for third place - the first game ended in a draw and made another play-off game necessary . During the tournament he also scored his first of four international goals when he scored 4-0 in the 8-1 win over Belgium on May 29. Until 1930 he was a member of the national team, his last international match he played on September 28 that year in a 2-2 draw against Belgium.
