Charles Georges Mrad

Charles Georges Mrad (born April 15, 1969 in Beirut ) is a Lebanese clergyman and curia bishop of the Syrian Catholic Church of the Patriarchate of Antioch, united with Rome .

Life

Charles Georges Mrad studied at the seminary in Charfet and acquired the licentiate in theology from the University of St. Esprit . He obtained another degree in civil law from the University of La Sagesse . On July 18, 1993, he received the sacrament of ordination .

After his ordination he was active in the pastoral care, as a university professor and as a judge at the ecclesiastical court of the patriarchate. In 2003 he was sent to further studies at the Lateran University in Rome in the subject canon law doctorate .

On February 19, 2018, Pope Francis confirmed the election of Mrad as Curia Bishop of the Patriarchate of Antioch by the Synod of the Syrian Catholic Church and appointed him titular Bishop of Zorava . He received his episcopal ordination from the Patriarch of Antioch, Ignatius Joseph III. Younan , April 14th of the same year.

He taught at the Holy Spirit University in Kaslik .
