Charles Gorrie Wynne

Charles Gorrie Wynne ( May 18, 1911 - October 1, 1999 ) was an English optician . He was a professor at Imperial College London .

His most important developments include the computer-aided minimization of square errors in optical systems, correctors for optical telescopes, the Wynne-Dyson imagesetter for integrated circuits and optics for bubble chambers .

In 1970 he became a Fellow of the Royal Society . In 1971 he received the Young Medal and in 1982 the Rumford Medal .
