Charles Le Picq or Lepicq , Russian Шарль Ле Пик (* 1744 in Naples , † 1806 in Saint Petersburg ) was a French dancer and choreographer .

He was a student of Jean Georges Noverre (1727-1810), one of the creators of modern ballet ( Ballett d'action ). Le Picq was called " Apollo of Dance" and performed in many countries such as Italy, England and Russia. In Mozart's aria Rivolgete a lui lo sguardo (in Così fan tutte ), Guglielmo boasts that he and Ferrando danced so elegantly “that Le Picq would bow to us”.

In 1786 Le Picq was invited to conduct the imperial ballet in Saint Petersburg. His wife, the ballerina Guertroude Rossi, and her son Carlo Rossi followed him there. His daughter Carolina married the Spanish composer Vincente Martín y Soler (1750 / 54–1806), with whom Le Picq worked in Saint Petersburg as he had previously in Naples. The family stayed in Russia. Rossi made a name for himself there as an architect .

Le Picq had a great influence on the development of Russian ballet. It is thanks to him that Noverres Lettres sur la danse were published in Russia in 1803. In 1801 he called the French choreographer Charles Didelot to Saint Petersburg.
