Charles Saxon

Charles Saxon (born November 13, 1920 in Brooklyn , New York City , † December 6, 1988 ) was an American cartoonist and illustrator .

In 1940 Saxon graduated from Columbia University in New York City. He became an editor at Dell Publishing , but soon had to serve as a pilot in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II . Around 1956 he became a cartoonist at The New Yorker , where he drew numerous illustrations, cartoons and covers. For well-known companies he produced advertising labels and poster motifs. His work has been collected in three books.
