Charles Smart Roy

Charles Smart Roy (born January 21, 1854 in Arbroath , † October 4, 1897 in Cambridge ) was a British pathologist .

Life

Charles Smart Roy was the son of Adam Roy and Elizabeth Smart. Roy studied at St. Andrews and Edinburgh Universities . He received his doctorate in Edinburgh in 1878 . After pathological-anatomical studies in London, participation in the Serbian-Turkish war as a doctor and work at physiological and pathological institutes in Berlin, Strasbourg and Leipzig, he became professor of pathology at the University of Cambridge in 1884 .
