Charles T. Walker
Charles Thomas Walker (* 1858 in Hephzibah , Richmond County , Georgia , † 1921 ), also known as the " black Surgeon ", was one of the influential American colored preacher before Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X . Walker was born a slave . He was a pastor at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in New York City.
The historian Silas X. Floyd was his friend and biographer. Charles T. Walker founded the school known as CT Walker Traditional Magnet School in Richmond County. It was founded in 1934 as a primary school, but was converted into an examination school in 1980. In 1999 the school celebrated its 20th anniversary as a magnet school .
