Charlotte Garbe

Charlotte Garbe (born Nimtz ; born March 24, 1929 in Eisenach ; † February 17, 2013 in Lauenförde ) was a German politician for the Greens .

Garbe attended elementary school in Eisenach and Tutow and then first a secondary school, later a high school in Quedlinburg . She gained experience in housekeeping, as well as in nursing and care for the elderly. She was busy building citizens' initiatives and was active in the party The Greens . Since 1968 she was active in the anti-nuclear movement .

In March 1978 Garbe was co-founder of the Holzminden district association of the Green List environmental protection. From 1980 to 1982 she was a board member of the Federal Association of Citizens' Initiatives Environmental Protection. V (BBU). For the Greens, she was initially in the Lower Saxony state parliament from June 21, 1982 to June 20, 1986, where she was deputy chairwoman of the parliamentary group from 1982 to 1983. In addition, she was secretary of the Lower Saxony state parliament during the legislative period . From 1986 to 1987 she was a member of the district council of the Holzminden district and then from 1987 to 1990 a member of the German Bundestag . There she was a full member of the Petitions Committee and the Committee on Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. From May 1990 she was also secretary and member of the council of elders .
