Charlotte Hampel
Charlotte Andri-Hampel (born October 4, 1863 in Vienna , † December 23, 1945 in Totzenbach ( Lower Austria )) was an Austrian genre, still life and portrait painter.
Born as the daughter of the sculptor and architect Franz Hampel, she studied at the women's art school in Vienna and then in Munich with Heinrich Lossow .
Charlotte Hampel initially worked in Munich and moved to Vienna in 1890. In 1897 she married the painter Ferdinand Andri (1871–1956), who was eight years her junior . After getting married, she ended her career as a painter.
Her works came from the estate of her husband, who died in 1956, into the possession of the St. Pölten City Museum , where they are exhibited in the Art Nouveau collection.
In addition to painting, she created pen drawings and font designs for the Viennese magazine “ Ver Sacrum ”.
