Charlotte H. Monginot (born December 18, 1872 in Paris , France , † 1962 ) was a French sculptor .

Life

Charlotte Monginot was the daughter of the painter and engraver Charles Monginot (1825–1900), who introduced her to art. She was a student of the sculptors Denys Puech , Raoul Verlet and Laurent Marqueste . From 1895 she exhibited her work at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris, where she received a mention honorable . In 1910 she received a third class medal here.

She began with busts and medallions made of plaster of paris and terracotta in the Art Nouveau style , but also worked with marble. Some of her work was cast in bronze. The bronze-marble group Jalousie , handcrafted by Éditeur d'art (art publisher) Arthur Goldscheider , was shown at the 1924 Salon. Other work was in the Art Deco style .

Monginot was also engaged in painting. She took part in numerous other exhibitions in Paris, but left the Société des Artistes Français in 1948.
