Raoul Verlet

Charles Raoul Verlet (born September 7, 1857 in Angoulême , † November 4, 1923 in Cannes ) was a French sculptor .
Life
After spending two years in Bordeaux , he entered the Paris École des Beaux-Arts , where he studied with Cavalier and Barrias. At the turn of the century, Verlet lived in Louviers . In 1908 he became a Knight of the Legion of Honor and in 1910 a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts .
His art was also appreciated in Latin America, where bronze statues of various heroes of freedom stand from his hand, notably in Popayán , Colombia and Bogotá .
