The Charlottenburger SV Olympia 1897 is a German football club from Berlin . The home of the club is the Westend sports field , which can seat 3,000 spectators. In contrast to other Charlottenburg clubs such as Hellas-Nordwest Berlin , SC Westend 1901 or Tennis Borussia Berlin , the CSV Olympia only appeared for a short time in West Berlin, at the time under the name of the predecessor club SC des Westens .

society

CSV Olympia 97 was founded in 1897 under the name SC des Westens 1897 Berlin , which Charlottenburg FC Triton 1898 joined in 1902 . By 1945 the club merged with the Westender FuCC 1896 (1912) and the Charlottenburger SC Sparta 08 (1933) to form the Westliche Spielvereinigung 1897 Berlin .

On a sporting level, the club competed in the championship of the Märkischer Fußball-Bund . The greatest success was winning the runner-up in the 1908/09 season. After several extra times and a total of three hours of playing time, FC Tasmania 1900 Rixdorf just won 4: 3 against SC des Westens 1897. Until the end of the war, the club , which subsequently became part of the Brandenburg Ball Game Association, did not appear any more, and any participation in the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg did not take place.

In 1945 the club was dissolved and re-established as SG Spandauer Berg . The sports group did not play in the championship of the Berlin City League , again only acted in a lower class. From 1949 the club returned to its historic name SC des Westens . After a longer period in the lower class, he was promoted to the Berlin amateur league for the first time in 1971 . In the opening season, the SC des Westens was able to leave the teams of BFC Nordstern , Normannia 08 and Neuköllner Sportfreunde behind in the relegation battle , but the renewed relegation failed the following year just at VfB Neukölln .

In 1979 the club merged with the DJK Charlottenburg to form Charlottenburger SV 1897 . The club should no longer play higher class in West Berlin. In 1992 the BFC Olympia 1953 was the last for the time being. The newly created Charlottenburger SV Olympia 1897 currently plays in the Berlin district league.
