society
Normannia Berlin was founded on October 1st, 1908 under the name Berliner FC Normannia 08 . In 1911, Normannia merged with SV Niederschönhausen, which was dissolved again a year later. After the First World War , Normannia Berlin merged again. Due to the merger with the BFC 1893 Berlin , the club acted in the following year as the Berlin sports association Normannia from 1893. This merger also lasted only one year. Further name changes followed from 1928, in which the club ran up as Berliner SV Normannia and Berliner SC Normannia .
In 1945 the association was dissolved. An immediate re-establishment did not take place. After the end of the war, the team joined the SG Nordost , in which large parts of the former workers' club Nordiska Berlin were also absorbed. In 1950 the former Normannia players settled in the western part of Berlin and re-founded the Berliner SV Normannia .
On a sporting level, the Normans have never been able to establish themselves in higher-class football in their club's history. In West Berlin , participation in the contract league or regional league was missed. The greatest success in the club's history was the promotion to the Berlin amateur league in 1971 . However, this division turned out to be a number too big for Normannia Berlin, and the club had to relegate again with a clear gap to Hellas-Nordwest Berlin and BFC Südring . Subsequently, the Normans sank again in the lower leagues. In 1988 the Berlin company renamed Märkischer SV again. MSV Normannia 08 played in the Landesliga Berlin until 2010/11 since its successful promotion to the regional league in 2007, relegated to the regional league in 2011 and passed through to the regional league A in 2012.
