The Charybdis Glacier is a large glacier in Mac Robertson Land, East Antarctica . In the Prince Charles Mountains, it flows northeast between the Porthos Range and the Aramis Range to the west of the Amery Ice Shelf .
Participants of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions led by the Australian mountaineer William Gordon Bewsher (1924-2012) discovered him in December 1956 and named him because of the inhospitable nature of the area after Charybdis , a sea monster from Greek mythology.
