The Chavez Glacier is a 16 km long glacier on the Walgreen Coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It flows south from the Canisteo Peninsula to Cranton Bay .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after Pat S. Chavez Jr. of the United States Geological Survey , deputy head of the group responsible for creating high-resolution AVHRR maps of Antarctica in the late 1990s.
