Chavo Guerrero senior , actually Salvador Guerrero Yañez (born January 7, 1949 in El Paso , Texas ; † February 11, 2017 there ), was an American wrestler who was also known under the ring name Chavo Classic. On February 11, 2017 , he died of lung cancer .

He was 1.80 m tall and weighed 103 kg.

family

Guerrero came from the Guerrero wrestling family. Even his father Salvador Guerrero Quesada , a great Lucha Libre , and his younger brothers Armando (Mando), Hector and Eddie Guerrero , who died in November 2005, were active in the wrestling scene. His son Chavo Guerrero, Jr. is also active as a wrestler, among others he was under contract with World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment .

Guerrero had been married to Nancy since 1971 and had two children (Chavo junior and Torie).

Career

He made his professional debut in 1972. In 1976 he received the "Rookie of the year". His trainer was Gory Guerrero. The managers Dark Journey and Baby Doll. After his active career, Chavo senior a. a. worked as a manager at WWE and commissioner at TXH. In 1991 he played the role of wrestler Ramon in the movie Alligator II: The Mutation .
