action

The well-being of a sleepy small town on a lake is determined by Vincent Brown, owner of the chemical company Future Chemical. Together with Mayor Anderson, he wants to turn the city into an ambitious place. To do this, Brown buys as much land as possible, but many residents do not want to sell. To change this, he is planning a big fair at the lake.

Detective David Hodges learns one morning that two fishermen and several homeless people have disappeared. When a boot is found that still has part of a leg in it, he has his wife Christine, a chemist, examine the find. She finds traces of animal saliva. It is believed that a giant crocodile is up to mischief in the sewers. The monster has mutated through chemicals that Future Chemical has illegally disposed of in the sewer system.

Hodges and his colleague Rich Harmon, supported by the professional alligator hunter Hawkins and his team, go on the hunt for the beast. However, all conventional weapons and even dynamite are ineffective. After a few deaths, Christine gives her husband a poison that has to be injected into the crocodile . The fair has started and the animal must be prevented from entering the lake. Police Chief Speed wants to cancel the event and is then murdered by Brown. The mayor, who no longer wants to tolerate Brown's activities, falls victim to him. The crocodile spreads fear and terror when it goes on manhunt during the festival. Brown is overwhelmed and eaten by the monster in the lake. Hawkins, Hodges and Harmon take a boat out onto the lake, which capsizes the animal. Hawkins is also eaten in a fight, but Hodges can inject the poison, but this has no effect. The alligator returns to its nest in the sewers, where Hodges and Harmon can hunt it down with bazookas .

criticism

"Absolutely unimaginative horror film with hair-raising, ridiculous special effects."

“US horror product about a slightly sedated rubber monster, manufactured with a manageable budget. Jon Hess, the director of the well-known 'Watchers', directed the film. B-film warriors such as Joseph Bologna ('Roboto - Die Menschmaschine'), Steve Railsback ('Insect', 'Hitchhiker 2'), Dee Wallace Stone ('Critters',' Crazy Love ') and Richard Lynch (' Lockdown ',' Lambada - The Forbidden Dance ') have their very own personal experience with the nightmare of the sewer system. A promising genre product for heavy users and big game hunters. "
