The Cheeks Nunatak is a 1310 m high nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It is the largest and southernmost of the three Zohn nunatakkers that loom 19 km northwest of the Merrick Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after Noble L. Cheeks (* 1932), aircraft electrician and crew member of a Douglas C- 47 Skytrain R4D to provide air support to a crew for the construction of the nearby Sky-Hi camp in 1961.
