The chemical platform Carling (also: Chemical platform Carling-Saint Avold , French: Plate-form Total de Carling ) is an industrial complex of the petrochemicals near the places Carling and Saint-Avold in France.

The plant was built in the 1960s. Today it consists of production facilities from the following companies:

The company Total as the largest company in the chemical complex produces in Carling u. a. 320,000 tons of ethylene , 215,000 tons of propylene , 180,000 tons of benzene , 110,000 tons of polyethylene and 215,000 tons of polystyrene per year. Total employs 560 people at the Carling plant.

location

The chemical complex is located between the towns of Carling, St. Avold and L'Hôpital in the French Moselle department in Lorraine . The plant is located directly on the German-French border. The next place on the German side is the Völklingen district of Lauterbach in Warndt .
