Centurion is a German bicycle manufacturer that was founded in 1976 in the Swabian town of Magstadt in the Böblingen district by the former cross-bike rider Wolfgang Renner . The company is one of the pioneers of the trend sports BMX and MTB coming from the United States in Germany.
Company history
In 1976, Centurion began its business initially selling Japanese bicycle components. In the years that followed, Centurion was instrumental in introducing trend sports from the United States. In 1987, after signing an import contract with Eddy Merckx , Centurion started selling his bikes. In 2006 the company celebrated its 30th anniversary in the market, followed by its 40th anniversary in 2016.
Sponsorship
Centurion has supported cycling since the beginning. In the course of time, numerous riders such as Thomas Hellriegel , Michael Göhner and Hubert Schwarz received material or financial support on the one hand, and the cycling teams Albgold and Centurion Vaude on the other . Centurion also offers many former cycling professionals the opportunity to work in the company, for example Udo Bölts , Peter Hilse and Thomas Barth .
